{"id":50,"date":"2008-08-07T21:50:49","date_gmt":"2008-08-08T03:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/costarica\/?p=48"},"modified":"2011-07-14T10:27:56","modified_gmt":"2011-07-14T15:27:56","slug":"in-the-zip-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/costarica\/2008\/08\/07\/in-the-zip-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"that&#8217;s who university is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have found the jobs we have done this week to be interesting given who we are.\u00a0 Though I was very specific in requesting and planning the TYPES of experiences I wanted this group to have (construction, evangelism, and missions\/cultural education) I did not specify the places or populations of people that we would minister to.\u00a0 So, we ended up working and learning from a church that emphasizes ministry to children and families, and a school specifically for children with special needs (cerebral palsey) I thought, &#8220;Well of course, because that&#8217;s who University Church is, that&#8217;s what we do.&#8221;\u00a0 It has been an incredible blessing for us to work in the places that we have worked because it truly fits hand in glove with who we are at University Church.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/costarica\/files\/2008\/08\/100_42311.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-50\" style=\"float: right;padding: 10px\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/costarica\/files\/2008\/08\/100_4231-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know there are lots of folks out there reading this blog while we are gone and\u00a0we are all very excited about that.\u00a0 We hope that you are able to catch a glimpse of some of what God is doing through some amazing people here in Costa Rica; and when we return home we will make it a priority to give witness\u00a0to all that God\u00a0has done through us and perhaps more importantly in us.\u00a0 On a personal note, to all of you reading this who are not a part of the University family I would\u00a0like to\u00a0say thank you as well.\u00a0 If\u00a0you have any questions about why we are doing this,\u00a0or you want to know more about this community of\u00a0faith called University United Methodist Church I would love for you to contact me (<a href=\"mailto:adam@uchurch.tv\">adam@uchurch.tv<\/a>).\u00a0 This trip exemplifies who we are at\u00a0The U, a group of people under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, seeking to know\u00a0Him more and make Him known.\u00a0\u00a0If you want to know more about\u00a0that kind of life with Jesus\u00a0I hope you will\u00a0get a hold of me, and if you are trying to\u00a0walk this road of faith on your own, I hope you will consider joining with\u00a0our\u00a0faith community\u00a0on this journey with Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Keep\u00a0checking in and keep praying,\u00a0we ain&#8217;t home yet!\u00a0 And thanks again to all of you for your prayers and support.\u00a0 Gloria a Dios!!!<\/p>\n<p>Adam<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
