{"id":766,"date":"2010-08-04T21:04:39","date_gmt":"2010-08-05T03:04:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/?p=766"},"modified":"2010-08-04T21:04:39","modified_gmt":"2010-08-05T03:04:39","slug":"month-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/2010\/08\/month-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Month 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reed is 17 months old today.\u00a0 I feel like I say it all the time, but wow time flies.\u00a0 It is crazy to think of the tiny little infant he was a year ago at this time.\u00a0 Now he is a full blown toddler who walks and (tries to) talk.\u00a0 He understands when we ask him questions or tell him to do something.\u00a0 He has opinions about what he wants to wear to school and he loves his school.\u00a0 He also loves routine.\u00a0 Sometimes I think we need to back off of the bath routine a little because he won\u2019t really eat dinner anymore. He is always trying to push out of his chair to run down the hall to his bathroom and bathtub.<\/p>\n<p>It annoys Randy that I put him to bed at 7 because he thinks it\u2019s too early, but you tell me.\u00a0 I look Reed in the eyes and say, \u201care you ready to go night-night?\u201d\u00a0 He stares back at me and reaches for my hand to walk him into his room.\u00a0 He leads me to his crib and starts trying to pull his favorite green blanket out of his crib.\u00a0 On the nights I let him pull it out he will put it under his head and lay down on the carpet.\u00a0 So what do you think\u2026ready to go to sleep?\u00a0 I think so.\u00a0 Sorry Husband!\u00a0 (And P.S he usually doesn\u2019t make a sound when I leave the room and sleeps past 7am!)<\/p>\n<p>He has some words, but we are really the only ones who know what he\u2019s trying to say.\u00a0 We are working on \u2018please\u2019 and \u2018thank you\u2019.\u00a0 His teachers say he will say it to them, but he definitely doesn\u2019t say it to us.\u00a0 Kids.<\/p>\n<p>He is still a great eater.\u00a0 He\u2019s picky day to day, but overall he will eat anything.\u00a0 He really loves food if it comes off of my plate and not his.\u00a0 This is annoying to me, but a decent weight management plan as well as a good way for him to learn to try new foods.<\/p>\n<p>We always talk about how much he loves water.\u00a0 But it is getting a little extreme.\u00a0 He has never had swim lessons, but has been in the pool and lake since he was about 8 weeks old.\u00a0 Reed\u2019s new trick is running in the baby pool and going face down into the water and kicks his legs.\u00a0 He intentionally falls forward and puts his face in.\u00a0 When we pull him back up after a few seconds he tries to push our arm away to go back under.\u00a0 He also knows how to hold his breath and never comes up spitting water.\u00a0 I really don\u2019t know how he learned this, or why he has no fear\u2026but I love it.\u00a0 However, if I had a pool in my backyard I would be a nervous wreck!!!<\/p>\n<p>-JB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reed is 17 months old today.\u00a0 I feel like I say it all the time, but wow time flies.\u00a0 It is crazy to think of the tiny little infant he was a year ago at this time.\u00a0 Now he is a full blown toddler who walks and (tries to) talk.\u00a0 He understands when we ask [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-766","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-reed"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/766","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=766"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/766\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=766"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=766"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/blogs.randybaldwin.com\/family\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=766"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
