bedding change

I am officially a crazy pregnant lady.  Remember my post a while back where I talked about the bedding I bought when I was only 6 weeks pregnant and how excited I was about it because it would be perfect for either a boy or a girl?  That was before I found out she is a girl.  Now I have crossed over to the dark side that I really didn’t think I would ever cross.  I love pink.  (Who the heck am I??)  My friend Katy (the designer and owner of Caden Lane and Nursery Couture) talked me into exchanging the blue bedding for the pink set in the same pattern.  Too bad we had already bought 2 gallons of blue paint to match the blue bedding.  I have no idea what we are going to do with that paint.  Maybe Reed’s room needs to be re-decorated…just kidding Randy!!

I have turned into ‘Mommy of a little girl’ pink freak.  I guess it goes to show that you never really know how you will respond until you are in the situation.

  1. Love it! I think I may have already told you this but when I was pregnant with Kate I said I was going to decorate a gender neutral nursery that all my babies could use…but then when I heard girl, I too turned into a pink freak and felt the need to splash it in her room 🙂 So I totally get it! And now I’m just as excited about decorating a boy nursery so I’m glad I didn’t do the gender neutral thing.

  2. So funny, I was the same way. I was going to be so frugal and have a nursery that I could use over and over again – hah! Then I started thinking “what if she’s my only girl? i’d be so upset if I didn’t do any pink.” Funny that’s not quite how things turned out now is it! I love the new one and it will be so beautiful in that house!

  3. Ha! This cracks me up. Britt had notions that we would use the same nursery for each baby, but I always knew that wouldn’t happen. 🙂 I enjoyed every single second of shopping for and decorating Joe’s room – even more than Ben’s. I really just loved getting it ready this time around. I love the new bedding and although the blue would have worked for a girl – I love that you went traditional!

  4. Cute bedding! There is something about having a little girl that makes you want to go all out. My poor little boy isn’t getting half the attention from mommy getting all cutsie with everything. Its so much fun having a little girl – you will love it!
