The Reasonovers are growing…

Diana is pregnant!!!

My baby sister is going to have a baby of her own and we couldn’t be more excited!!!

The baby is due on January 9th and he’s a boy!!  His name will be Rhett Wade Reasonover.  Everyone except Alison is so excited…she was upset that he’s a boy.  Her response was ‘but I wanted a girl this time’.  It was so funny.

I can’t tell you how excited I am that my kids will have at least one cousin.  We can’t wait to meet this sweet little boy early next year!!

Cole Jordan Kohnen

I met Ryan in college, but truthfully we never got to know each other until years later. He met Lacey and then I introduced Julie when she came around, and the four of us just hit it off. We have a rarity in couple relationships, where all 4 individuals get along great with the other 3.

Now Ryan and Lacey are celebrating their first child, and we couldn’t be happier. Sharing the experience of our own kids with them while they were preparing for their own, has really strengthened our relationship. Now that Cole is here, we are anxious to get to know him and watch him grow with our own kids.

Cole came in at 7lbs 5oz and 20 inches long. Lacey and the baby were doing great when we got to visit them, and your couldn’t wipe the smile off Ryan’s face.

Porter Rose Stryk

Meghan and Wade Stryk have become great friends of ours after originally being introduced by Chris and Alison Berry. Since then we have been to their destination wedding in Cozumel (see Babymoon 2008) and stayed in contact as Julie and Meghan shared part of their pregnancy.

We are happy to announce Porter Rose Stryk!!

She comes in at 7lbs, 4 oz and 19 inches long. Mom and Dad were beaming when we went to visit them in the hospital and Porter looked great.

Congrats, Wade and Meghan!! We look forward to Porter and Alison getting to know each other.

Two babies, but not twins

Now that you all know about Little Spice, there is even more exciting news…my good friend Sarah is having her second baby too…and we have the same due date!  How fun is that?

I had my second visit with Dr. Vanover on Wednesday.  We did another sonogram and this time we could definitely see Little Spice.  For some reason I had this thought that I was having twins.  After today I know FOR SURE that we aren’t having twins.  I would have loved twins (truly), but I don’t think I could afford the day care costs!

Jacob Landon Edmonds

img_4927Of all the babies we have welcomed into the world recently, we are happy to announce that we finally have another member of our extended family to welcome… Jacob Landon Edmonds. Patricia, my cousin, and her husband, Jeff, had a scheduled induction on August 19th. After a full day of pitocin and even a little fever, Jacob came out just before midnight, weighing 8lbs 6oz and a tad over 21 inches long. Jacob is in good hands with his older sister Katharine, who anxiously waited with Grandma and Grandpa to see her new baby brother.

They were all doing well when we got to stop by and say hello (except for Reed, who had to stay in the waiting room by hospital standards). Jacob was born into a family of Longhorns, so they made sure to have him wrapped up in his best burnt orange when we showed up. We did find it amusing that he peed on the t.u. outfit before Patricia could get him dressed in it. We don’t hold it against you Jacob, we love you all the same!

Welcome Claire Elise!!

Some of you might be tired of my posts about all of Reed’s friends, but I love them.  Each new baby born to our dearest friends is so special to me.

Claire Elise Keith is the daughter of Scott (my old roommate!) and Summer and was born on July 25th.  They have a 2 year old daughter (Kaitlin) and are brave souls who didn’t find out the sex of this baby before she was born.  I truly don’t know how they did it…I don’t think I will ever be that strong!!  Unfortunately Claire and Kaitlin live in Dallas so Reed won’t get to see them as often as his other friends, but we can’t wait for tailgates and all the other times they will get to play together.

Congratulations Scott and Summer we can’t wait to meet her!!!

Welcome Caleb Stephen!!

img_4565As you can see…lots of new friends!!  Our dear friends Mark and Missie Swayze had their son on July 14th.  Caleb was 6 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long.  Missie ended up in labor the exact same way that I did; elevated blood pressure + 38 week doctor’s appointment = baby time.  She was induced and 5 hours later had her baby boy.  (Missie is also a champ at labor and delivery)  Caleb is a sweet little boy and I seriously can’t remember when Reed was that little.

Welcome Jedediah Strong!

img_4554Reed has tons of new friends that are being born everyday.  The first is Jedediah Strong Tomlinson born on July 6th and was 9 pounds, 1 ounce and 21 inches long.  Both of Jedediah’s parents are clergy at our church and are close friends of ours.  Leslie is an incredible woman who has delivered 2 children (Jedediah has an older sister Lucy True) without a hospital (birthing center) and no pain medicine!  Jedediah was home sleeping in his bed a mere 6 hours after he was born.  Congratulations Kit and Leslie!!

Mckaylee Jane Nichols

We’ve had an onslaught of babies this month, as we have already mentioned here before, but not since October have we seen any GIRLS! Today, we went to visit Mark and Jennifer Nichols, the proud new parents of their brand new baby girl, Mckaylee.

She came via c-section on Monday, December 22, 2008 with no complications. She was an average 7.8 lbs and 19 inches long. However, she apparently has freakishly long feet, and is affectionately nicknamed, “Flipper” by Jennifer’s mother. Mother and baby are doing great, but according to Mark, she poops a lot.

For the last few years, the Nichols have coordinated with the Reasonovers to host a spot at the San Antonio Rodeo Kickoff that comes around every January. We had our doubts this year with the arrival of Mckaylee, but Mark never doubted that he would make it happen this year. As it stands now, we are still set for this year and we are looking forward to it again. I’m sure that Mother and child, along with the Mother-to-Be will be hanging out inside the RV while the guys are BBQing and freezing our butts off.

This “baby stuff” isn’t so hard!!

Brody Christopher Davis

The flood of babies is well under way… Sam and Shannon Davis welcomed their second child (and second boy) this morning! Brody Davis weighed 8 lbs 11oz and 23″ long.

We have been very fortunate to meet Sam and Shannon at UUMC and get to know them over the last few years. Shannon is a world traveller and Sam holds down the fort with their son, Connor. Shannon and Julie, as well as Sam and myself are very much kindred spirits. We are excited for them and can’t wait for our baby boy to grow up with the children of all our great friends.
