Baby update

In the spirit of keeping this blog a reference for baby Baldwin, I figured I would write about some of the things going on with me.

First of all is food.  Clearly this child is Randy’s because all he wants me to eat is healthy food.  (We will see how that progresses as we get further into the holidays…)  For the past several months my favorite things to eat are honeycrisp apples, celery and peanut butter, and cereal.  I think I could probably live on that diet for the next 4 months if it was healthy enough.

Baby is moving around a lot these days.  I used to only feel him if I paid attention and even then it was very limited.  Starting a few days ago I feel him all the time.  Sometimes I think he is never going to stop moving.  An added benefit to this increased movement is that Randy finally felt him move for the first time this weekend.

We had another doctor’s appointment on Friday and everything still looks good.  My blood pressure is fairly low as usual, weight gain is still minimal and when the doctor went to listen to baby’s heartbeat it was very distinct, loud and strong.  No compliants from doctor, baby or mom.  Let’s hope all the appointments go this well!!  Next appointment is in mid December when I get to do the lovely Glucose test.

  1. That’s awesome that you are craving such healthy things! I was a Whopper and mexican food maniac with Kaitlin – be thankful for the little things! I’m so glad Randy got to feel him move too. Now begins the “show” as Scott liked to call it, where he can probably start watching your stomach become like a wave pool. It was usually at night right before we went to bed that K would put on her show. Fun times!

  2. Yea for Randy being able to feel it! I was so happy to be able to share that with Jim, truly amazing! Don’t worry about the glucose test, people made it out to be way worse than it was.

  3. Randy shared your blog with us at work. Very cool idea! My “baby boys” are 22 and 17. You said in one of your posts “The more time I spend with little boys the more I realize I truly know nothing about raising them.” That’s the cool thing about being a mom–no experience required! So long as you remember that (most) boys NEED to be active. Because I have a younger brother, I didn’t expect my boys to sit quietly all day playing with toys. I put away anything that I didn’t want broken and let them be themselves in their own home. Unfortunately, they wanted to behave that way in public, too…
