We finally made a trip to Houston to see a few people that we’ve needed to come see for some time now. The bumper crop of babies from only a year ago are all growing up to be such fun and entertaining toddlers. Reed has lots of friends is age in many cities, so we just have to set aside time with no other agenda to come and visit.Jim and Sarah Pike put us up for the first night and had Wade and Chelsea Egmon come over with their new boy, Caleb. Jim and Julie’s friend, James came over also with his girlfriend, Ryann. James is visiting from overseas and it is a rare occasion that he is here, so the timing worked out great.
The entertainment for the first part of the night and the morning was Reed’s infatuation with Kate! We have never seen Reed take such an interest in another child, to the point that he follows them around and aggressively grasps onto them every chance he gets. It was hilarious to see Kate react with confusion at first and then utter frustration when she couldn’t get away from Reed. At one point, Reed has her pinned in the corner, next to the window where they were both starring out.
Kate eventually warmed up to Reed, as you can see in the video below. They played well together and we look forward to the next time we can visit the Pikes.
The next stop was the Braniffs. Heather and Julie have been friends since high school and Heather has boy named Riley that is only 2 weeks older than Reed. We wanted them to meet and Julie also wanted to come visit Heather and her family.
The other reason for me to come to Houston was to see my cousin, Clint. Clint has been incarcerated for the last 11 1/2 years and after living in a halfway house for some time after his release, he is now living back with his Mom and Dad. It is wonderful for our entire family to have him finally out of confinement. I was pretty excited to see him again, but I was even more excited to introduce him to meet Julie and Reed.

Love it! I’m so glad you captured that on video. Pretty sure she’s going to want to wear the pants in all future relationships, don’t ya think?
We’re working on sharing for the next time we see you guys 😉 SO glad you came to visit!
