37 Weeks and 2 days…19 days to go

We went to the doctor this morning.  Blood pressure, good.  Weight, sore subject.  Baby Reed, still a boy!  I had a panic moment this morning that we would go in for the sonogram and they would say he was actually a girl.  It is a terribly long time to wait between the 19 week sonogram and the 37 week sonogram.

The doctor estimates he is around 6 pounds right now, which is bigger than Randy was at birth, I guess he will take after his mother.  He is head down, but I have made no progress at all.  I don’t think he will be making his appearance anytime soon!!

This past weekend Randy and I finished painting the stripes in Reed’s nursery.  Hopefully we will have time to take and post a few pictures tonight.

  1. So glad to hear everything is going well! I remember at this point I just kept saying “I can’t believe in 3 weeks or less our life is going to completely change.” It’s a very surreal feeling to know something huge is coming, but have no say on when or how. Maybe he will be your present for your bday on the 7th! Don’t forget the wine and eggplant parmesan trick that worked for KC and I. Even though Sarah didn’t have any luck with it, maybe we can get a 75% success rate if it works for you!

  2. Even if the wine and eggplant didn’t work, I sure enjoyed my glass of vino! That’s so funny that you thought you might hear he was a girl. Even though we had a bunch of ultrasounds that confirmed Kate was a girl, one day near the end a stranger on the bus told me the way I was carrying looked like a boy (what a dumb thing to say, I was sitting down!). So I was panicing since we’d decorated in all pink!

I can’t wait to meet this sweet boy!

  3. Well, it may have worked slowly for Sarah, since I remember she did go into labor that weekend, just not the next day. So do lots of walking and then go eat a well-timed, well deserved meal of eggplant parmigiana and wine. Oh and make some plans for lunch or dinner the next day with good friends – that seems to work too!

Don’t worry, he will be here before you know it and then these last few painful weeks will really be a distant memory! So exciting!!!
